Ocklawaha River Raid

According to a history of the battle. The Ocklawaha River Raid of March 7, 1865, involved a small Union force of about 30 soldiers from Jacksonville who raided the Marshall Plantation in east Marion County resulting in a skirmish with local Confederate forces near the Ocklawaha River. The 28th annual re-enactment is hosted by the 2nd Battalion, Hardy’s Brigade.
